Happy 7th, Google

By Chris Richardson

Today is the official birthday of everybody's favorite search engine (forgive the hyperbole), Google, the industry leader people either love or in Microsoft's case, love to hate, was founded on September 7, 1998.

This means Google, one of the most talked about Internet properties ever, is officially 7 years old. Currently, Google does not have an altered logo to celebrate today, so it appears as if the search engine news industry is making sure everyone knows. One can imagine the atmosphere around Mountain View is quite festive, especially if the SES Google Dance or 2004's IPO party is any indication.

So without further adieu, lets all wish Google, the company that brought the search industry to the forefront, a happy birthday. I'm sure there will be plenty of others. Thanks to Nick Wilson for pointing this out.
