Doing The Google Dance

By David Utter

Mike McDonald and Chris Richardson from WebProNews took some time away from the fun and games at SES 2005 and ventured out to the Googleplex for the Google Dance after-party.

Did you get your Google on? Or meet Larry Page? Share your after-party accounts with us on WebProWorld.

Wednesday's after-party was hosted by the search engine crew from Mountain View. Mike McDonald managed to zap us a few quick bytes on the event:

The busses started rolling to Mountain View shortly after the last session conluded on Tuesday night. I wanted to get there early this year in order to try to snap a few pics.

Doing The Google Dance

The Googleplex was of course every bit as impressive as you might expect. They had a lot of the same types of things they had last year. There was a dunking booth, karaoke, arcade games, and various sundry novelties scattered across the campus.

Word has it Larry Page was in attendance, communing with the mortals though he wasn't signing glossies.

The beer garden was a new (and welcome) addition to the event this year. They of course had drinks at last year's dance but this year it seemed to require much less effort and line standing to actually obtain one.

Doing The Google Dance
After last year's rather embarrassing situation where the big G ended up returning 'No results found' for beer queries, I assume measures were in place to address that issue as well. One of which may have been the posted end time of 9pm.

However, when we left at 8:30 things looked like they weren't slowing down a bit. Everyone had a good time. Google had a very nice event this year.
