A blog is better than a newsletter because it's not intercepted by spam filters or nanny software, and a lot of newser publishers are having trouble with this these days. Most blogs have a feature where readers can sign up for an automatic notification when the blog is updated, and because this feature is entirely automated, the publisher doesn't need to deal with subscribe requests or unsubs. Collaborative Excellence
Here is an idea that has just proven itself to work far beyond our expectations.
We chose to supply the general public and other developers/designers/ programmers, etc with a way to get the news about our efforts.
We started a newsletter campaign that generated almost 900 subscribers in 2 weeks!
One of our team partners did some search engine optimization for us, in trade for graphic work. It was a small effort that has projected the newsletter to a series of articles written by all the partners. Each has a highlight that focuses on one specific item month after month.
