Phone Numbers
Can't track down a phone number or address? Don't waste money by calling the operator for information. You have the Internet at your fingertips. You can use a search engine to find tons of sites that provide this sort of information. The Phone Numbers and Addresses section in Yahoo's list of reference sites is an excellent source.

Keeping Up With Technology
New advancements in technology are made every single day, especially in the computer industry. There is no escaping it. The programs that you become proficient in today could be useless tomorrow.
Once you have a grip on the technological world surrounding you, take steps to stay ahead of the game. But how can you do this if you can't predict the future? My first recommendation is to try to receive a better working knowledge of why things work the way they do. Take some basic classes at the local college, or just ask your computer literate friends to teach you a few things every week. Once you start to understand the method behind the madness, you'll find that it's a lot easier to adapt to the frequent changes. It's also helpful to take out some subscriptions to popular science and technology magazines. This way you can see new advancements developing before they actually happen, and you'll better prepared when they reach your office.

Every new discovery leads to another, and you can bet there will be no end to that in the near future. As long as Bill Gates can keep coming up with new ideas, we'll have to continue adapting to constant updates and overhauls. How do we stay positive and retain the will to learn new things when, no matter how hard we try, it seems as though we can never keep up?

The first step is to remember that it isn't how we perform, but rather how hard we try. If you give it an honest effort,

you should be able to harness the changes in technology that come to your field. Even if you can't, then at least stay as up to date as possible. The second step is to develop a positive outlook on technological change. Don't see computers or the Internet as monsters that make you work harder. Rather, view technology as the force that's working constantly to make our lives easier and more efficient. Much too often we discount the value of progress in the computing field because we're so opposed to changing our daily habits and functions.
